An Existential Antonym

 

Some people want to regulate the market, others want to deregulate the market.

 

“The regulators did not regulate the market effectively”

 

That does not mean they deregulated it, just that they did not regulate it well.

 

We need to differentiate between logical antonyms and existential antonyms. A deregulator wants to remove regulation, not do it poorly.

 

We can use a SYNONYMMAP operator with a false existence to represent it, as
