An adjective can have multiple meanings, depending on what it opposes.
A high mountain
A high pressure water hose
High blood pressure
High altitude
High resolution TV
Some things have a spectrum - low altitude, high altitude, a low mountain is a hill.
A high pressure water blaster is a good thing, a high blood pressure is a bad thing.
How many meanings of “high” are there?
Low medium high – resolution – the higher the better
Low medium high – cost – the lower the better
Low medium high – altitude – no preference – dose, tolerance
Low normal high – blood pressure – preference for normal
High mountain – out of ordinary – high strength
