Programming of algorithms becomes too difficult as we attempt to handle increased
complexity. ORION is a non-algorithmic approach to the use of computers. It relies on the
assembly of components whose interaction provides the necessary processing of information,
in the same way as our other kinds of machines rely on the interaction of their components
to perform their functions.
The ORION Knowledge Base System is an environment for modelling of analytic knowledge
about a particular area. It uses a Network Methodology to represent the knowledge.
The combination of an undirected network, operators responding to change at their
connections, and the transmission of complex information permits the solution of many
difficult and intractable problems.
Key Benefits
General Purpose Knowledge Base
No limit on extendibility - no initial direction
Flexible, adaptive, dynamic environment
No preconceived algorithm that is dumb in your application
